Tasting Notes

Our 2020 Reserve Pinot Noir is beautifully balanced, aromatic, and flavorful, with tons of expressive red berry fruits. Notes of lifted, bright Bing cherry and ripe red currant are layered with nuances of forest floor, fresh mushroom, and red berry cobbler. Soft and round on the palate with good saturation and structure, this Pinot leads to a supple, silky-textured mouthfeel. Fine tannins frame the flavors, while hints of ginger and cardamom from new French oak barrels offer savory aromatic notes, and a lengthy, persistent mouthwatering finish.

      Vintage Notes
Despite being remembered for factors beyond the typical harvest season, we are pleased to call the 2020 vintage a success. It was a warm, dry winter with rain and cooler weather not arriving until the end of March. While the mild spring season was a great early start, our winery working conditions had extensive safety protocols due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Summer brought cool mornings and very warm days, however as harvest began in late August, we were interrupted by wildfires across California. We were incredibly fortunate that our vineyards and winery were not located in areas of the active fires. In the face of the trying vintage conditions however, the wines showed excellent development in the cellar and we are delighted with the quality and caliber of wines we are able to showcase in 2020.
